3 Modules
The complete course consists of 3 video modules and 1 PDF manual which include self-assessment
Module 1
At the end of this section the Learner will be able to:
- Describe the concept / principles of Gas Metal Arc Welding processes
- Describe / Identify by name, typical equipment constituting a GMAW system
- Explain in basic terms how MIG/MAG/FCAW processes operate
- Explain in basic terms the modes of metal transfer (Short arc, globular, spray and pulsed)
Module 2
At the end of this section the Learner will identify by name, and describe the function/operation of:
- A GMAW power source (Typical)
- A Wire feeder (Typical)
- A welding gun (Typical)
- Gas supply equipment
- Electrode wire(s)And then perform the following tasks:
- Prepare (and adjust) the wire feeder unit
- Prepare a welding gun and gun liner
- Prepare the gas supply to the welding station
Module 3
At the end of this section the Learner will be able to:
- Prepare and use a MIG/MAG power source to produce “Short-Circuit Transfer Mode” welds on steel work-pieces
- Prepare and use a MIG/MAG power source to produce “Spray Transfer Mode” welds on steel work-pieces
